This blog is all about how a retired Aussie (that’s me) developed a successful online business.
Hello my name is Peter Beckenham and together with my wife Amnuai and 2 teenage daughters, we live in a village in far north-eastern Thailand not far from both the Laos and Cambodian borders.
I have TWO driving passions. The first one is establishing an online website to market to the world the fantastic Thai silk fabrics that are handmade and totally naturally dyed in our village.
We are well on the way to finalising this project where we will share all profits after expenses with our weavers. All our village are very excited about the prospects of this venture.
In this way we will be helping improve the lifestyles of our very poor village.
To see exactly why this project is such a driving force for us look at this link: http://www.thaisilkmagic.com/ourkeymission.php
My other driving passion is the make a real success of building an online business and coaching others to achieve the same.
I know with the support, expertise and coaching of Alex Jeffreys, that the “ball is well and truly in my court” to make every post a winner (excuse the pun).
So Come Join Me
So join me on my journey and I am sure I will be able to share stacks of ideas, practical solutions, things and mistakes to avoid (that I have and will probably make in the future as I grow) and as much help as I can possibly deliver to you.
So let’s enjoy the journey and the excitement of success together!

Hi Peter,
That is a wonderful video of your Thai village life, and your project to promote Thai silks to the world and share the resulting profits is a noble one which I admire…
… and you never know one day your village could be one of the biggest producers and exporters of silks in Thailand (well you gotta have a dream and I personally think just about anything is possible if your willing to commit yourself and work hard!).
I wish you great success with your projects,
Kindest regards…

Hi Peter.
The great thing you show about this business and technology is that it can be done from almost any where in the world.
Making money in sunny exotic places next to the sea is now possible with the right coaching and support.
You’ve got both.
I wish you all the very best in your two ventures.
Regards.
Rod

Thank you Rod but our village is located in the middle of rice padis – near the Cambodian border.
A long, long way from the ocean sadly!

Hi Jaycee,
Wow…What a beautiful comment. I have actually printed it out and placed it on the refrigerator so the whole crew will see it and read it while they have breakfast in the morning.
Yes I am passionate about our mission but I am also incredibly lucky to have a family who think the same way as I do – we are doing this as a family team and that makes it even more enjoyable.
Jaycee I can’t think of the right word to say to you – just thank you from all of us here in Ban Dong Yang

Hi Peter,
I saw the video and checked out the mission statement on the Thai Silk Magic website.
I must say that it is a very noble and impressive initiative. It’s so true that the effort and hard work of the original creators gets bought at petty prices and then sold by merchants for profits a hundredfold.
If only the people who really take the efforts get their true share of returns, the world would be a much better place, with better balance between the rich and the poor.
You are doing a great thing by getting the silk from production straight to retail. God bless your selfless initiative and bring prosperity to the people of Ban Dong Yang.
Wishing you success,
Mark
